The Oklahoma Ornithological Society will host its Spring meeting at Salt Plains State Park from April 26 to 28. We hope to see many of our members there.
We’ll have field trips to be announced soon. Check back for registration information and other updates. All activities are free except the dinner event on Saturday evening.

OOS Spring Meeting 2024 Schedule
Date: April 26-28, 2024
Place: Salt Plains State Park
Meeting space Friday night-Saturday night: Salt Plains State Park Community Center.
Speaker: Melissa Robell, Salt Plains Refuge educator.
Lodging: All six cabins have been spoken for. Tent sites may still be available; contact the state park to reserve. Other lodging in Cherokee, Oklahoma. They did not give a block of rooms but suggested making a reservation.
Food: Smoke-Shak BBQ Restaurant will cater a Saturday night supper, including brisket and chicken with sides of coleslaw, potato salad, no-meat baked beans, and dinner rolls. A vegan option and gluten-free bread option will also be available.
Cost: $25/individual; $40/family for the dinner and keynote address.
Activities: More field trips and activities to be announced
(1) Curtis Stewart will lead a field trip on Saturday morning walk along Eagle Roost Trail and time permitting, Sandpiper Trail. Time TBA.
